Who we are

Gold Standard Builders, Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a California licensed general contractor in Sherman Oaks, CA 91403, CA Contractor License #1033117. This policy covers the website at https://goldstandardbuilders.com/ and nothing else. Work we perform for you is governed by your written home-improvement contract.

The short version

• We collect what you type into our contact form, and standard technical information about your visit.
• We use it to answer your enquiry and to run and improve the site.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you fill in a form on this site we collect your name, phone number, email address, the type of project you’re asking about, anything you write in the message field, and the fact that you ticked the consent box, together with the exact wording of the consent you agreed to. If you book a consultation we also receive whatever the booking calendar collects.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites we receive technical data when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, how long you spend, referring URLs, and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived on. On a mobile device this includes the device type and mobile operating system.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and equivalent storage for three purposes only:

• Essential — keeping the site working and protecting our forms from automated abuse.
• Analytics — understanding which pages are used and where people give up, so we can fix them.
• Preferences — remembering choices you make, such as dismissing a banner.

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without the analytics and preference ones.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment card details, social security numbers, or financial information through this website. If you apply for financing, you do so directly on Lyon Financial’s own site under their privacy policy — we never see those details.

How we use it

• To answer your enquiry, call or text you back, and arrange a visit.
• To prepare and send you an estimate, and to run the job if you hire us.
• To keep records of the work we quote and perform, including for warranty, licensing, insurance and tax purposes.
• To operate, secure and improve the website, including diagnosing problems and blocking spam.
• To comply with legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.

We do not use your details for unrelated marketing, and there is no mailing list on this site.

Calls and texts

If you tick the consent box on our form you are agreeing that we may call and text you about your project. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase — you can ask us for an estimate without agreeing to texts, by calling instead. To stop texts, reply STOP to any message or tell us. To stop calls, tell us and we’ll stop.

Who else touches your information

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and to reach you. They process your information on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

• Hosting and infrastructure — our website host and database provider, who store the site and the messages you send us.
• Spam protection — Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form submission came from a person.
• Email delivery — the service that delivers your enquiry to us and sends system email.
• Lead routing and CRM — Zapier and Less Annoying CRM, which pass your enquiry into our customer records.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 and PostHog, which tell us how the site is used.
• Booking — Google Calendar, which runs the appointment scheduler.
• Maps — Google Maps, for the map embeds.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, in response to a valid request from a public authority, to protect our rights, property or safety or those of others, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the business — in which case we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as we may need them to answer you, to honour a warranty, and to meet our legal, licensing, insurance and tax obligations. Technical and analytics data is kept for a shorter period. When we no longer need something we delete it or anonymise it.

Where it’s processed

Our providers operate in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data-protection law differs from your own. By sending us your details you agree to that transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely wherever it is processed.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@GoldStandardBuilders.comor write to the address at the top of this page. We’ll respond as quickly as we can. We may need to keep some information where the law requires it.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request a copy of it, to correct inaccurate information, to request deletion, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. To make a request, email info@GoldStandardBuilders.com — we may need to verify who you are before we act on it, and you may use an authorised agent.

Security

We take reasonable, commercially available measures to protect your information. No website or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

This site links to sites we don’t control — Lyon Financial, review platforms, social media, mapping and booking services. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them your information.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted here and we will update the “last updated” date above. If a change is significant we will say so prominently on the site.
